I have been teaching Suzuki violin lessons for over a decade here in my hometown of Boulder. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in music at the University of Colorado in 2001 and after studying Suzuki violin pedagogy with the acclaimed William Starr I became a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and an active member of the Suzuki Association of Colorado. I am passionate about teaching violin. I truly believe that students can learn countless life lessons through music and I enjoy watching how learning to play enriches my student?s lives. I also believe it is important to show my students that music is much bigger than Suzuki violin. I want my students to be life long musicians. I emphasize the fact that solid technique opens the doors to many types and genres of music and I encourage them to discover what really inspires them. I recently began studying old time fiddle and bluegrass, which I have found to be a great new chapter for me. I will be a life long student of the violin myself and feel fortunate to have found an instrument that gives me that opportunity.
